I grew up in Northeast Ohio, and went to Ohio State, where I wrestled varsity and earned my accounting degree from the Fisher College of Business. Out of college, I took a job with PricewaterhouseCoopers in international tax — and spent that first year earning my CPA license. Once I'd checked that box, I started hearing a louder calling. I could feel the complacency of a corporate track where climbing the ladder just meant doing what was asked of you and sticking around long enough — the same path as everyone around me.
So in my mid-twenties, I decided it was the perfect time to uproot everything and make a big change. I enlisted in the Navy to go through BUD/S and become a Navy SEAL. I graduated, reported to SEAL Team One, and went to sniper school as my specialization. I was proud to serve in that capacity, and prouder still of the men I served alongside. It was in that chapter of my life that I met my amazing wife, and we started building a life and family together.
When that chapter came to an end, my next adventure was becoming a husband and a father. After the SEAL teams, I went looking for my next challenge — one where I could combine everything I'd learned and set my own priorities, without submitting a permission request just to spend time with my family. That search led me to start Locana Legacy LLC: bringing the same discipline I learned as an operator to how founders run their businesses, on my own terms.
